The reason for establishing the We Are All Maryam Forum

The suffering of people in Al-Quds is no longer an issue of occupation; rather, it represents the struggle between justice and oppression, and right and wrong!

Women in Al-Quds bear the burden of confrontation with the occupation to preserve their identity and land. They suffer because of; their husband’s arrest or martyrdom, the arrest of their children, the societal pressures they are subjected to, and the difficult economic conditions!

In light of all of this, we have to draw attention to these women, shed light on their suffering, and call on international institutions to defend their rights and ease their burdens in a time of freedom, international legitimacy, and human rights!

Why Maryam?

Maryam is a symbolic figure for a woman from Al-Quds who suffers from the oppression and harm of the occupation. The name "Maryam" (Arabic for Mary) was chosen after the mother of the Prophet Isa (Arabic for Jesus) peace be upon him. She grew up in Al-Quds and faced the harm of the Children of Israel (The lineage of the Hebrew people).
